8:51 PM - musings of a Gemini
Current mood: contemplative
Category: Goals, Plans, Hopes
i can't help but wonder
what a year would be like
that began, your lips on mine
the world ours alone, hopeful
and I can't help but wonder
if i regret haste decisions
my lips to your ear
alone, my world waiting
and I still sit and wonder,
if the starry sky absorbs pain,
reflecting hot tears,
to your lonely night, distant
and I always will wonder,
if sadness seeped different,
if words were not weapons,
if we had spoke less, would we have said more?
alone, we both ponder
12/12/07: This poem was written 8 days after my first date with Peter and 3 days after I decided I would not move my entire life to be with someone who was unsure if I would fit comfortably in his life. The demise of that relationship began when I was promised a New Year's date that would never happen. This may give the perspective necessary to gain the full meaning of the poem.
